Lontano

A continent in the southern hemisphere of Lonn, Lontano is a land of magic, mystery, untamed wilderness, tamed wilderness, beautiful cities, adventures to be had, and tragic backstories. In short, it is completely the same and yet totally different from any other fantastical land (other than the fact that it is hot in the north and gets cooler as one travels south).

Separated from Argones by a dangerous ocean plagued by supernatural storms and titanic leviathans, Lontano has its own reputation as being perpetually "far away", to the point where most of the people on Argones or Ixnay have never even heard of Lontano. Although different events have shaped Lontano's history independently of Argones and Ixnay, the same types of peoples and places have evolved parallel to the Lonn, to the point that if easy access between continents suddenly became available, one might be surprised to ever learn it had not always been that way.

Lontano has had its share of major events throughout its history, and was a particular hotspot of activity during the Second Age (known locally as the Age of Yore). It was here that Asphixias was born, and many of the Mad Wyrm's genocidal rampages took across the continent during much of the Second Age and well into the Third Age. The Heroes of Yore were from Lontano, and many of their adventures at the end of the Second Age took place across the continent as they raced to stop Ardos from summoning Pazuzu to the Material Plane. The Last Stand took place on Lontano, an event that would have such a resounding impact across Lonn that it ended the Second Age entirely.

• The continent is divided into five regions, with no singular governing body.
• Halflings almost entirely unknown, with gnomes and satyrs making up the bulk of small people.
• Dragonborn are equally nonexistent.
