Broggnax City

If Drahk'Suhl represents a successful attempt to rally one of the savage species to a unified cause and advance their position in the world, Broggnax City represents a total failure.

Founded centuries ago by Broggnax, one of the Heroes of Yore (in the wake of his separation from the other Heroes), the city was envisioned as a gathering places where trolls would come together and work toward building a society capable of accumulating great wealth and status.

Broggnax envisioned this, but even though he was gifted with above-average intellect, he was not gifted with foresight. His ability to force trolls to work toward a common cause was tenuous, and after his death, the city fell into despair and ruin. His progeny continued to rule, mostly uncontested because no other trolls had an interest in forming and maintaining a society.

Recently, the latest Queen Broggnax has decided it is time for the trolls to regain their status as Vaprak's favored children. While the large group of trolls living in the ruined city could hardly be called "civilized" or even a "society", it is the closest trolls have come to ever achieving unity in over an age. Queen Broggnax sees Drahk'Suhl as an insult, believing she can do better for her people than Jin'Zil. Her people, however, don't really believe in anything beyond finding their next meal.

The city itself is a mockery of civilization. Situated deep in Grosden Swamp, many of the "buildings", made from crude stone, rotting wood, and whatever else the trolls could scavenge, are currently sinking into the unstable muck. Travelers of medium size would be stuck moving at half-speed if they could even set foot into the city, although why anyone would wish to visit is a mystery. Broggnax City is hostile toward any outsider who isn't a troll, and even if it wasn't, everyone inside speaks exclusively giant and can't understand (or refuses to acknowledge) common.

Malchior, Luethil Gilyth, Rurik Dankil, and Senek the Bard killed the queen and looted the place before saving Calan from the Troll Breeding Pits and burning the entire place to the ground (see "Burning Down Broggnax").
