Swampy Domain of Dread

In society, Anton Misroi presented himself as an upstanding gentleman. But within the walls of the Prison over which he was Warden, he was a sadist who believed righteousness was on his side. When his torturous punishments finally drove the prison's inmates to rise up, the bloody riot that ensued drew the attentions of the Dark Powers. During the uprising, Misroi was drowned in the Swamps surrounding the prison. But he rose again soon after, an Undead warden in search of inmates.

Beyond Misroi's Prison, Alligator-filled swamps cover the Domain of Souragne right up to the sinking settlement of Port d'Elhour (New Orleans) and Marais d'Tarascon, a Village where above-ground Crypts outnumber the residences of the living (and which also got wrecked by Zombies).  No one in either town has heard of Anton or even knows his name; his only fame lies in the areas surrounding the prison, which he is forbidden to ever re-enter.  He is trapped in the swamp and cannot leave.  No matter how he yearns to be among the living and flaunt decadence, he is cursed to be forever apart among the rot.

Misroi's Plantation lies in a giant swamp in antebellum south - bayous, the culture, the visuals/scenery - gothic decadence into decay.  In all essence, Misroi is the swamp. He can sink into mud, travel through trees, and is even able to call an unlimited number of zombies to follow his commands without range restrictions. Nothing happens without his notice. There’s a voodoo angle in the towns, but he’s above all that.
