Gurble’s Passing is a quaint village nestled on the southeastern edge of the expansive Algari Forest, a sprawling deciduous woodland located in the heart of the continent. Perched on a gentle rise, the village offers a serene view of the magical pond where the playful Well Spirits—ethereal beings of water and light—dance and frolic in the shimmering surface. The pond is said to hold ancient powers, its waters glowing faintly under the moonlight, drawing travelers and locals alike to its enchanted shores.
The Algari Forest itself is dense and full of life, with towering oak and maple trees that change their hues dramatically with the seasons. Its vastness hides many secrets—mysterious ruins, hidden groves, and ancient creatures. Trails wind through the woods, leading to forgotten places of magic, with Gurble’s Passing acting as a hub for those who seek both the comfort of a village and the call of adventure.
The Founding of Gurble’s Passing
Long ago, the village was not much more than a nameless clearing in the Algari Forest. Its origins are tied to a humble gnome named Gurble Thistletwist, a wandering herbalist with a knack for discovering plants of remarkable magical properties. One fateful day, while following rumors of a mystical water source deep within the forest, Gurble stumbled upon the now-famous enchanted pond.
It’s said that as Gurble knelt to gather water, a Well Spirit emerged, curious about the little traveler. The spirit warned Gurble of the forest’s dangers but offered him safe passage in exchange for a promise: that Gurble would build a sanctuary for those seeking refuge from the wild, a place where the spirits would be honored. Grateful for his life and intrigued by the offer, Gurble agreed.
He built a small settlement on the hill overlooking the pond, and true to his word, every year a festival was held to honor the Well Spirits. The village grew around this tradition, becoming a haven for wanderers, adventurers, and those seeking magical knowledge. To this day, the Festival of the Waters remains the village’s most celebrated event, where villagers and visitors alike leave offerings at the pond and share tales of the spirits’ favor.

Ursalm healer, Yerkash is Tabaxi greet us as we entered town. We found them discussing something strongly with Xanathia, a miner. Xanathia takes us to the mines so that we can get the soul stones that will allow us to become guardians of the town. We also decided to establish GP as home base.
