The lowest accessible level of Newton’s Tower is not forgotten.

It is deliberately ignored.

The air is damp and metallic. Water drips from unseen cracks. Every sound echoes too long.

Unlike the upper floors:

• the lights here are dimmer,
• the enchantments harsher,
• and the tower itself feels less welcoming.

The stone seems to remember suffering.

General Layout

Descending the stairs opens into a circular prison level.

Features

Torture Chamber (South of Stairwell)

A heavy iron door leads into an old interrogation room.

Inside:

• rusted restraints,
• draining grooves in the floor,
• articulated mechanical arms,
• alchemical burners,
• and a table fitted with arcane restraint clamps.

Most tools are clean despite obvious age.

No one admits to maintaining them.

Central Guard Station

A reinforced glass-steel enclosure stands in the center of the prison floor.

The room contains:

• emergency lockdown levers,
• racks of rusting weapons,
• and inactive control runes.

The reinforced glass is:

• resistant to magic,
• impossible to break nonmagically,
• and slightly mirrored from the outside.

Sometimes silhouettes appear inside despite the room being empty.

The Nine Cells

Nine prison cells curve around the outer wall.

Each cell contains:

• a continuous stone shelf functioning as bed and seating,
• a recessed waste chute,
• iron restraints,
• and a thick metal rail running through every cell.

Chains attached to the rail allow prisoners limited movement, like animals tethered to a track.

The design is humiliating by intent.

Every cell has:

• a reinforced feeding slot,
• heavy barred doors,
• and etched anti-teleportation sigils.

Most cells are empty.
