Monhelm Bánság

The province of Monhelm is a large and diverse region located in the western part of the Kingdom of Pagen. It covers an large area and is dominated by the rolling grasslands that surround the large Shath'ke lake in the center of the province. The highland area is also a prominent feature of Monhelm, with the Hrabovske Mountains rising up in the west, offering a natural barrier between Monhelm and the deserts of central Zarathar.

The capital of Monhelm is Flavengarse, where the Earl of Monhelm resides. This city is known for its impressive fortifications and rich history, having been the seat of the Monhelm Earls for generations.

The people of Monhelm are proud of their long and mutually respectful history with the dwarves of Dunirr, and many of the lower born are employed as paid labor or own their own plots of land. The strong belief in personal freedom that is found throughout Pagen and the Stormber lands is particularly strong in Monhelm, reflecting the nomadic roots of the Stormber people.

Despite the jealousy of other nobles in the kingdom, the Monhelm Earls have a reputation for justness and loyalty to the Kingdom of Pagen, and are trusted with the defense of the western borders towards the deserts to the west. This is done with the string of isolated mountain castles in the high passes in the lower western mountain chain Alacsony Hegyseg before the great deserts of Mub. These castles are Ma'jash, Daraniro, Divas and Anella
