A poor but well apportioned home for children

This two story rickety wooden structure was once a barn for grain and roots.  Decades ago, the structure was bought by the Church of St. Andrals to provide a home for the growing number of street children in Vallaki.  Though the Burgomaster had little compassion for starving children, his wife preferred not to see them.  The priest offered to use church funds to pay a headmistress and house keeper.  The children could earn a meager living around town doing small jobs.  The eldest of the boys works, Milivoj, works at the church doing general maintenance and digging graves.
